The Brewton-Parker College baseball team won two of three Georgia-Alabama-Carolina Conference games in a series Friday and Saturday against Southern Wesleyan University in Central, S.C.

After scoring a 12-1 victory in Friday's series opener, the Barons were dealt a 4-1 setback Saturday before taking the series with a 6-4 win over the Warriors.

Brewton-Parker (13-5 overall, 4-3 GACC) took command of Friday's game with four runs in the fourth inning and five more in the fifth.

Sophomore right-handers Andrew Gernatt (3-0) and Zane Miller combined on a five-hitter. Gernatt allowed two hits and no runs with two strikeouts over four innings to get his second win of the week.

The Barons rebounded in the final game in a big way, with senior Denson Gleaton's three-run home run, his fourth round-tripper, in the top of the first giving Brewton-Parker a quick lead.

The Barons scored two more in the second and withstood a three-run Warrior rally in the sixth to claim the win.

Sophomore Rex Harrison was 2-for-4 offensively with one RBI and three runs scored, and junior Miles Zachary had two hits.

Junior right-hander Brent Kennedy (5-0) won his second decision of the week by allowing the Warriors two hits and one earned run in 4-1/3 innings with three strikeouts and six walks.
