MOUNT VERNON – Brewton-Parker College held Commencement Ceremonies for the Class of 2014 Saturday, May 10 on the Mount Vernon campus inside Saliba Chapel. Special guest speaker for the ceremony was author and renowned evangelist Dr. Tim Lee of Garland, Texas.

“I believe you will face the challenge of the ages when you leave here today,” he said. “We need men and women of this graduating class to go out and fight.” Lee encouraged graduates to go out into the world and put on the whole armor of God. “As you walk out of this building today, with your heads held high, tell God ‘I want to be the man or woman you want me to be. I’ll fight the fight.’”

There were also three special presentations of degrees during the ceremony. Both Lee and BPC alumnus William “Bill” Barner (’59) received Doctorate of Divinity degrees. Former BPC President Dr. Mike Simoneaux received special recognition as President Emeritus.
