MOUNT VERNON—During the Jan. 28 chapel service, BPC President Dr. Egun Caner shared his heart and vision for chapel with BPC students, faculty, and staff. “Worship has to be student led,” he told the congregation. He went on to explain that chapel should be Holy ground, where individuals have the freedom to find a corner and talk to the Lord. “The Holy Spirit has to be here,” he said.

Caner spoke from John 9 about the blind man’s encounter with Jesus, and how Jesus had changed his life. He told the students “Your encounter with Jesus Christ is the most important thing that we [faculty] could be a part of. Getting a degree is not the most important; getting you close to God is.”

Praise and worship music was provided by BPC’s BCM Band. The band is comprised of Olivia Brantley, Will Browder, Shaw Doolittle, Corbin Howard, Dustin Knowles, Michael Mathews, and Jared Page. Guest musician Shane Vibbert also assisted the band during the service.

Chapel is open to the community and held weekly at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays.
