BPC 2013 Alumni Honors Ceremony

MOUNT VERNON—Brewton-Parker College’s Office of Alumni Relations presented several special annual awards to BPC alumni and friends of the college during the 2013 Homecoming/Alumni Weekend, Feb. 8-9.

This year’s winners are: Alumnus of the Year, Dr. David Kight (’93); Ministerial Alumnus of the Year, Rev. Bucky Kennedy (’85); Friend of the Year, John Roller of Mount Vernon; Half Century Club Member of the Year Award, Mell Whipple (’30); Young Alumnus of the Year, Christopher Summerlin (’03); Music Alumnus of the Year, Luther Wardlow (’02); and Hall of Fame Award, Robert Kessler (’02) of Owings, Maryland.

The Honors Ceremony was held in Gilder Recital Hall. Mrs. Brenda Searcy provided special music on the piano to accompany the awards ceremony. The Memorial Service honored current and former students and friends of the college who had passed since the society last gathered for Alumni Weekend 2012.

Brewton-Parker College is the only accredited four-year Christian college south of Macon and north of Jacksonville, FL. The mission of Brewton-Parker College, a Georgia Baptist college, is to develop the whole student through the application of Biblically-centered truth to a liberal arts curriculum in a community of shared Christian values.
