Outgoing BPC trustees honored for service

MOUNT VERNON— Brewton-Parker College’s Board of Trustees honored five members rotating off the board during the Oct. 20 board meeting on the Mount Vernon campus.

Outgoing trustees Weyman Perry of Lawrenceville, David Gunn of Wadley, Gilbert Westberry of Swainsboro, Greg Morris of Vidalia and Terry Carter of Brunswick were recognized for their service to the college as trustees and friends. Dr. Mike Simoneaux presented each trustee present with a plaque commemorating their service.

Also during the meeting, the board approved its officers for 2012. Those serving in the following positions beginning in January will be: Gary Campbell of Vidalia, chairman; Linda Yawn of Statesboro, vice-chairman; Rev. Karl Hay of Mount Vernon, secretary; and, Rev. Terry Braswell Sr. of Lithia Springs, assistant secretary.

Brewton-Parker College is the only accredited four-year Christian college in south Georgia.
