Incoming commuting students encouraged to attend New Student Orientation

MOUNT VERNON –With the start of classes waiting right around the corner, Brewton-Parker College is preparing for the final push to New Student Orientation by reaching out to the commuter population.
New Student Orientation is a five-day program, August 17-21, designed to ensure that new Barons feel welcomed and informed about student life at Brewton-Parker. The Orientation team is putting special emphasis on new commuters given that it is usually easy for them to feel disconnected from campus life.
“Commute to campus, attend class, commute back. That is what many commuter students do. However, we want to break that routine and ensure our new commuters don’t miss out on the full college experience,” said Joshua McPhatter, this year’s Orientation Coordinator. “College will likely be a highlight of their lives, which is why we want them to get a good start during New Student Orientation.”
New Commuters are asked to attend all activities and informational sessions throughout the week with the rest of the incoming class. New Student Orientation starts on Wednesday, August 17. There will be a Family and Friends Welcome Celebration & Reception staring at 1:30 p.m. (in Saliba Chapel) on that day and the main kick-off ceremony starts at 7:30 p.m. that night. New Students can RSVP for Orientation Week and view the entire schedule online at www.bpc.edu/orientation.
Please feel free to contact Joshua McPhatter if you have any questions regarding Orientation or scheduling at 912-347-2743 or through email@example.com. We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, August 17. Enjoy the rest of your summer.
Brewton-Parker College is the only accredited four-year Christian college in south Georgia.
