Circle K hosts pancake fundraiser at McDonalds, creates BPC Onion Run team
MOUNT VERNON—Brewton-Parker College’s Circle K student service club invites the community to participate in an “All You Can Eat Pancakes” fundraiser Tuesday, April 12 at the Vidalia McDonalds. Circle K members and other members of BPC student organizations and teams will serve pancakes to the patrons from 5 to 8 p.m. inside the dining area. Drive thru meals will also be available.
Circle K members are selling the $5 tickets. Members are Donald Abuda, Misael Alvarado, Danny Ashley, Bojan Barovic, David Dixon, Caroline Foster, Stefan Frank, Henry Guigou, Lillie Hamilton, Yolanda Hernandez, Jeffrey Hoyos, Jeune Hypolite, Timothy Jickell, Santana Lowe, Rene Martinez, Maya Maxwell, Benjamin McLendon, Joshua McPhatter, Jonathan Moore, Fabian Moreira-Mesa, Yan Moukoury, Jacob Otwell, Jaimie Phillips, Dereck Rodriguez and Justin Rogers.
All funds will be used to support children in the local community.
Circle K also invites Brewton-Parker students, faculty and staff to compete in the Vidalia Onion Run/Walk, Saturday, April 30 as a BPC Team.
“Last year, several BPC students, faculty, and staff participated in this event. In fact we had the best turn out of any organization,” said David Kight, Circle K advisor.
Registration forms have been put in each campus mail box. Cost is $7 per student and $10 per faculty/staff for the 1 mile and $15 for all other races. Registration includes a t-shirt; however, there is a Friday, April 8 deadline.
“We need these returned soon, so don’t delay your early registration to take advantage of the great price break. Where else can you get a cool shirt and help your community for just $7?” said Kight.
Members of Team BPC can compete in any of the Onion Run/Walk’s events. The 1 Mile Fun Walk starts at 7:30 a.m. The 5K Run/Walk and 10K Run/Walk both begin at 8 a.m. All events begin and end on Church Street in Vidalia between First Baptist Church and First Methodist Church. $3,500 in prizes is available to runners/walkers.
