MOUNT VERNON—Ryan Brazell, a 2010 Brewton-Parker College graduate, received a Certificate of License from Tabernacle Baptist Church of Vidalia Sunday, June 5 during the service. The certificate states the church recognizes Brazell’s calling to the ministry and allows him to preach the gospel.
According to Tabernacle Baptist Pastor Bobby Thompson, the certificate “is a little more official than that of a lay leader. It is decided on by a vote from the church, but it is not to be confused with an ordination.”
Brazell has served the church as a student ministry intern for almost two years while working on his degree in Christian studies from BPC. He is currently looking for a position in student ministry at an in-state church, and plans to attend Southwestern Seminary in a few years.
“We consider (Ryan) an asset to Tabernacle,” added Pastor Thompson.
Brazell is married to Rhianon Cox Brazell, a 2010 BPC graduate. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in sociology. They reside in Mount Vernon.
Brewton-Parker College is the only accredited four-year, Christian college in south Georgia.
