MOUNT VERNON –Brewton-Parker College’s Student Government Association will host a table in the Phillips Student Center on the Mount Vernon campus Wednesday, Sept. 8 for those interested in registering to vote in the November elections, said SGA Vice President E’Quain Rhodes.

According to Rhodes, this SGA project is intended to increase awareness about the November elections and to make voter registration available to college students.

“It is our ‘good faith effort’ to register students to vote,” said Rhodes. “It is our civic duty to vote.”

Absentee ballots will also be available at this booth. Faculty and staff are also encouraged to register, if not already.

Deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 2, 2010, elections is October 4.

Dean of Students Sherrie Helms is the Voting Registrar for BPC, and Rhodes is a work-study for the Student Affairs office. Applications are on file in both the Student Government Association (Phillips Student Center) and Student Affairs (Cook Building) offices.
