Anand Dave receives UPS scholarship
MOUNT VERNON—BPC junior Anand Dave is the recipient of the 2009-2010 United Parcel Service (UPS) Educational Endowment Fund Scholarship. Dave was notified of his selection to the UPS Scholars Program earlier this week, said Jackie White, Director of Financial Aid Compliance.
Dave was selected based on his academic achievement and financial need. The scholarship totals $2,700 and is for one academic year.
Dave, originally from India, lives in Lyons and commutes to BPC. He is a pre-med major with a concentration in biology and a minor in chemistry. He plans to pursue a career in medicine, and would like to attend the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta after graduation.
“First of all, I would like to thank UPS for their desire to help nurture and encourage the intellectual and spiritual growth of the students here at Brewton-Parker College,” said Dave. “BPC has highly qualified faculty members and a wonderful staff and activities both inside and outside of the classroom. It has opened the door of immense opportunities. Brewton-Parker College has encouraged within me the cultivation of personal integrity and high ideals.”
Brewton-Parker College is the only accredited four-year Christian college in south Georgia.
