BPC now boasts a YouTube Channel and News Blog
MOUNT VERNON –Brewton-Parker College’s Office of Marketing has launched two new media initiatives on social media websites this month. The College now maintains a YouTube Channel and a news blog on the popular blog website, Blogger.com.
“By joining these sites, we are putting BPC’s name out there in an emerging and unique media while strengthening the brand awareness of the College. Plus, students and prospective students are comfortable using new media, and that’s where they are spending a lot of their free time on the internet,” said Kelley Arnold, interim director of marketing and director of news and public information at BPC. “Plus, it’s ‘cool’. Students and parents really like the accessibility and interactive options.”
These new media initiatives join the College’s effort to reach out to students and alumni through the social networking site, Facebook.com. More than 540 fans have subscribed to the College’s Facebook page since it was first created in September, 2008. Fans of the site can post video and photos to the page, and comment on the “Wall”. The College is even taking a stab at Twitter.com.
“We have a growing number of people following us on Twitter, including editors of The Christian Index and other colleges,” said Arnold.

The BPC YouTube Channel currently features several missionary videos from Dr. Hal Ostrander’s trip to Kazakhstan last March and a marketing video on the college’s revamped Bachelor of Ministry degree, which now features online classes geared towards adult students who may be juggling full-time careers and family life. It also has other “favorite” videos from friends, students and alumni of the college.
