Sigma Tau Delta inducts 11 members to English honor society

MOUNT VERNON—Brewton-Parker College’s Division of Arts & Letters and the English honor society, Sigma Tau Delta, hosted several dozen friends and students of the college at its annual Medieval Dinner Dec. 2.

             

Held in the Briscoe Center, the event was also a time to celebrate the induction of 11 new members to the English Honor Society. Joining the esteemed group are the following BPC students: Rachel Allen of Ellabell; Amy Beckum of Lyons; Rebecca Brady of Sylvester; Mark Caruso of Jacksonville, Fla.; Carolyn Doyle of Lawrenceville; Maria Leutzinger of Sylvania; Amanda Lott of Hazlehurst; Chelsea Moore of Alamo; Courtney Parker of Newnan; Maribel Villegas of Vidalia; and, Robin Willis of Vidalia.

             

Sigma Delta Tau members are invited to join the honor society after distinguishing themselves academically in their English coursework beyond the 200-level survey class. Dr. Thom Brucie, assistant professor of English and creative writing, serves as the society’s advisor/sponsor.

Registration is going on now for the spring semester. The Division offers major and minor coursework in Communications, English, Arts & Society, Creative Expression, Creative Writing, Drama, Film Studies, Music and Spanish, as well as opportunities to earn an Associate of Arts degree. Spring Semester classes begin January 11, 2010, on the Mount Vernon and Newnan campuses.
