Hometown: “I moved around a lot growing up. My dad was and is in the civil service. I claim the Lowcountry of South Carolina as my home: Beaufort, Charleston, Summerville. It’s where I spent most of my adolescence and young adulthood.”

Family Info: “I am the oldest of 15 kids.”

Any pets? “A boxer named Oz and a Persian kitten named Freddie.”

Favorite restaurant/food: “French country fare. Mistral’s in Charleston is one of my favorites.”

Ideal or dream vacation: “Either an African safari, with me shooting digital film as ammo, or spending a quiet, relaxing weekend in a lighthouse converted into weekend rental property.”

Favorite singer/group: Van Morrison

If you could have one occupation other than current job, what would it be? “Owner of an independent book and magazine publishing house and/or editor of a woman’s lifestyle magazine.”

Favorite current TV show: “I don’t really watch daily TV. I either read or watch a DVD from Netflix. I’m currently reading Susan Vreeland’s Life Studies. It’s excellent.”

Current vehicle: 2004 Volkswagen New Beetle Convertible

Dream vehicle: “I’m driving it!"

Hidden talent: “I’m musical and have been told by many music instructors that I have perfect pitch. I sing in the church choir now, but I used to play the cello and the bassoon.”
