August news from BPC’s SGA
MOUNT VERNON–The 2007-2008 BPC school term is just around the corner, which also means the Student Government Association (SGA) will soon convene to begin making plans for the new year. Throughout the summer, SGA President Cody Henderson has kept in contact with Brewton-Parker College administration and staff, and SGA members, to lay the groundwork for the new year.
Already, before the academic year has even begun, executive officer positions have become vacant, some of which will be filled by students elected by their peers. The vice president position is one of the offices now vacant. According to the SGA Constitution, President Henderson will be able to appoint a new vice president, based on a favorable two-thirds vote by the SGA Senate. Three individuals are being considered by Mr. Henderson, and a decision will be made once the senate votes.
The SGA Executive Cabinet will meet for the first time of the 2007 Fall Semester on the night of Aug. 27, and the entire SGA Senate will meet the following Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Classes begin on the Mount Vernon campus, Monday, Aug. 27 at 8 a.m.
According to President Henderson, the entire SGA of Brewton-Parker College is excited about this year, and looks forward to what occurs on this campus in the coming weeks and months.
“I’d like to welcome new and returning students to Brewton-Parker College for the 2007-2008 year,” said President Henderson. “It is my hope that you all have a wonderful year at BPC. Please know the office of SGA is always open to you. Please let any SGA member, or myself, know if there is anything we can do for you. God bless you all, and Go Brewton-Parker Barons!”
