Ideal or dream vacation: “I would love to do a tour of the battlefields of Gettysburg and Normandy, the Texas Schoolbook Depository and then spend some time at Arlington National Cemetery and the Smithsonian Institute.”

Favorite Singer: “In Christian music, Phillips, Craig and Deen. In country music, it was always Conway Twitty. In pop music, Karen Carpenter.”

One occupation other than current job: “U.S. Congressman because my current profession includes higher education and pastoral ministry.”

Dream vehicle:  “Either another Crown Victoria – they ride so smooth, or a four-door pickup.”

Hidden talent: “I have two. Light carpentry and ironing clothes. I iron all the clothes in my house and I love it. I learned how to iron in the military.”
