BPC Basketball to host youth basketball school
MOUNT VERNON – Brewton-Parker College Head Men’s Basketball Coach John D. Jones announces the dates for the 2009 Barons Basketball School, to be held on the Mount Vernon campus.
Applications for the day camp July 20-24 will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Coach Jones looks for about 30 to 50 youth to participate in the day camp this year. Camp hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“We’re hoping this new camp program at Brewton-Parker will serve the developmental needs of the youth in our area,” said Jones. “We’re excited about contributing to the athletic development of our youth.”
The camp is open to boys and girls ages 8 to 17 and at all levels of competitive experience.
“Everyone from beginners to the college-bound athlete is invited,” adds Coach Jones.
Camp highlights include individualized instruction, 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 games, shooting competitions, swimming hours and camp awards. Campers will also receive a t-shirt, basketball and a Family Season Pass to the Brewton-Parker College home basketball games in the 2009-2010 season. Lunch is included in the camp fee ($150), and transportation to and from Vidalia will be available for a nominal fee.
