Music has been an important part of Brewton-Parker’s cultural and academic life since 1914. The college has been an institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music since 1992.
The Division of Music provides a comprehensive study of music through music literature, theory, performance, history, technology and education. We believe that students are the heart of our program. They are active participants in their own aesthetic growth and creative enrichment. The music program encourages students to develop performing skills through private study and through participation in the college music ensembles.
Recognizing the need for a listening audience, the program offers a variety of courses for the general student body that assume no previous musical background and that are designed to enhance an understanding of the continuing tradition of the world's music.
The music program at BPC is unique in that it currently offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music as well as three Bachelor of Music degree concentrations in Music Education, Church Music, and Performance. A minor in music is also available.
Across Georgia and throughout the nation, our music graduates have established a reputation for quality through local church ministry, school music programs, and through national organizations.
Our team of committed faculty and staff and our truly inviting campus make Brewton-Parker College an excellent choice for dedicated musicians.
