Students are encouraged to participate in one of the following professional organizations:

Student Professional Association of Georgia Educators (SPAGE)
Student Georgia Association of Educators (GAE)

Education majors at Brewton-Parker College are required to join the professional organization of their choice for the purpose of:

  • receiving $1,000,000.00 in liability insurance coverage for professional lab
  • experience in the public schools
  • keeping the education major aware of current issues in public education through publications provided by the professional organization
  • initiating a feeling of professionalism in the student through attendance at conferences, meetings, retreats, workshops, and conventions sponsored by the professional organization

Education majors in all four education centers can obtain a student membership application blank for either organization by contacting the secretary of the Education Division at 1-800-342-1087, Ext. 165.
