In the Fall of 2000 a Drama performance of Christian skits set in motion a new ministry of outreach for Brewton-Parker College. The title of the show was inspired by the line in the favorite hymn: “Open mine eyes that I may see; glimpses of truth thou hast for me.” The students and the director were so enthusiastic about the potential of the messages that it was decided that these skits would be offered to the surrounding community and churches.
There seemed to be a real need, a real interest, and a real commitment that would accomplish several important purposes of the college. “Glimpses of Truth” is an outreach ministry under the direction of the Communication Program and in cooperation with the BCM Outreach Teams. “Glimpses of Truth” aims to evangelize, encourage, minister, uplift and exhort the Body of Christ. Although the programs are designed to entertain, all the messages bring a “glimpse of truth” with a Bible-based Christian purpose.
