Message from the President
Welcome to the Brewton-Parker College Website!
Over a century ago, a few inspired leaders in South Georgia envisioned a Christian
school where the young people of this region could gain the very finest academic
training and simultaneously continue to grow in their faith in God. They would
be very proud of the college they created.
Founded
in 1904, Brewton-Parker College provides its students a state-of-the-art
learning
environment with a personal
touch from people of faith. As a Georgia
Baptist institution, we take seriously our pursuit of Christian discipleship,
while focusing our vision on instructing our fine students in the liberal arts.
Our faculty boasts terminal degrees from some of the world’s most elite
universities. Our students come to us from many areas of the United States,
and from almost 30 other nations, although the majority of our students hail
from within a 100 miles of Mount Vernon.
Brewton-Parker
College sits on almost 300 acres of land in beautiful Mount Vernon, Georgia,
and has external programs
in six off-campus locations in Savannah,
Hinesville, Glennville, Baxley, Norman Park and Newnan. We believe that Christian
higher education offers our students an additional dimension to the excellent
higher learning opportunities available in secular private and public universities.
Our faculty, staff and students share a sense of vocational responsibility
with their secular school counterparts, but at BPC most of our employees also
feel a spiritual calling to fulfill their roles as teachers and servant-leaders
for our students, alumni and community. Furthermore, at BPC we can celebrate
every dimension of human existence—including our spiritual needs and
desires. We can feel at ease in praying, sharing our understanding of God’s
Hand in our lives, and in discussing our personal spiritual experiences with
one another. While we make a place within our diverse student body for everyone,
we surround them with employees who are Christian believers in the hope that
our lives will constructively impact those with whom we daily interact.
